As winter looms, the organizers of the Team Jamaica Bickle hospitality initiative are already looking forward to the spring, and seeing the Caribbean track-and-field athletes who’ll benefit from the organization’s Christmas Day holiday party in Queens.

Organization founder Irwine Clare said last week that male and female scholastic athletes from Jamaica and other Caribbean nations will be the beneficiaries of the organization’s annual affair, hosted by the Dream Restaurant (formerly Clippers II), at 234-36 Merrick Blvd. (near 109th Road) in Laurelton, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Since 1995, the group has supported and guided thousands of athletes visiting the United States to participate in the Penn Relays track-and-field meet in Philadelphia by finding accommodations, serving daily Caribbean meals, and providing ground transportation for the athletes.
